Lifejacket Services

RISE Safety provides lifejacket inspection, servicing, rearming, repacking and certification for leisure, marine, commercial and workboat users.
Based in Nairn, we support customers across Inverness, the Highlands and Scotland, helping ensure inflatable lifejackets remain serviceable, correctly recorded and ready for use.

Our service includes a full visual inspection, inflation test, CO₂ cylinder check, firing mechanism check, rearming inspection, repacking and service record. Where replacement parts are required, these are recorded against the individual lifejacket.

Every serviced lifejacket can also be added to the RISE digital tracking system, giving you online access to service history, certificates, renewal dates and inspection notes.

12 Month inspection

Regular inspection helps confirm that your lifejacket remains safe, serviceable and ready for use. We check the cover, bladder, webbing, stitching, buckles, oral inflation tube, inflation system, CO₂ cylinder, labels and general condition. Each lifejacket is inflation tested and inspected for wear, damage, leakage or missing parts.

Rearming & repacking

A lifejacket must be correctly rearmed and repacked to operate properly in an emergency. We check the CO₂ cylinder, firing mechanism, automatic capsule or cartridge where fitted, manual pull cord, indicators and inflation components. Expired, damaged or fired parts can be replaced during service.

Visual Inspection

We inspect the lifejacket cover, bladder, webbing, stitching, buckles, oral inflation tube, labels and general condition for signs of wear, damage, corrosion or missing parts.

Inflation Test

Each lifejacket is inflated and checked for leakage or loss of pressure. This helps confirm the bladder and inflation system remain serviceable and ready for use.

Cylinder & Mechanism Check

We check the CO₂ cylinder, cylinder weight, firing mechanism, manual pull cord and automatic capsule or cartridge where fitted. Expired, damaged or fired parts can be replaced during service.

Repacking & Certification

After inspection, the lifejacket is correctly repacked and issued with a service record and digital certificate. Serviced jackets can also be added to the RISE digital tracking system.

Lifejacket Servicing Cost

Our standard lifejacket service price is £15 per lifejacket, plus any replacement parts required.
Replacement parts may include CO₂ cylinders, automatic capsules, cartridges, lights or other serviceable components where required. Any parts fitted are recorded against the individual lifejacket as part of the service record.
If a lifejacket fails the inflation test, we do not charge the standard service fee for that jacket.
Digital service records and certificates are included with RISE lifejacket servicing.

How often should I service my Lifejacket?

Lifejacket service intervals depend on the manufacturer’s instructions, the type of lifejacket and how often it is used. As a general guide, commercial, workboat and frequently used inflatable lifejackets should be serviced annually. Leisure or infrequently used lifejackets may have longer intervals depending on the manufacturer’s guidance, but they should still be inspected before use and serviced if there are any signs of wear, damage, corrosion, missing parts or inflation system issues. If you are unsure when your lifejacket was last serviced, RISE can inspect it and provide a service record.
